GENERAL LIBRARY RULES

  1. Members entering the Library shall enter his/her name, status and time ofentry legibly and sign in the register kept at the entrance for the purpose.
  2. Strict silence and discipline must be maintained in the Library. Users must ensurethat rights of other users of the Library are not breached in anyway by their own acts of omission or commission
  3. Use of cell phones is not allowed.
  4. Eating, sleeping and talking are strictly prohibited in the Library.
  5. Non-members can use the library resources in the Library premises with the permission of the Director /Principal//Librarian.
  6. Readers must not take personal belongings into the Library. They may be deposited at the Library property counter. The users are advised not to leave expensive items with the property counter.
  7. Documents taken out of the shelves must be left on the table. Replacing the documents on shelves by users is not encouraged as the documents may get misplaced.
  8. Readers should not mark, underline, write, or tear pages or otherwise damage thelibrary documents.
  9. Readers are requested to handle all Library property carefully to avoid damage to itand also not to disturb other readers/users.
  10. No Library material can be taken out of the Library without permission of the Librarian.
  11. Photocopying service is available for library members at nominal charges.
  12. Some items in the Library cannot be copied because of copyright laws and brittle / fragile condition.
  13. Anyone who violates the rules and regulations of the Library may be debarred from using the Library facilities or other punishments due for breach of law or norms ofpublic order and decency.
  14. The Librarian, with the approval of the Director / Principal, reserves the right to add, delete, or modify any of these rules as and when
  15. Suggestions on all aspects of library services are welcome.

         LIBRARY HOURS

      (Issue/Return) facilities are available from 9.00 AM. – 4.00 PM.

  • ADMISSION TO THE LIBRARY
  • All members of the MILC (Staff and Students) 
  • Any other person with the permission of the Principal/Director/Librarian
  • Sign a register (Gate register) specially provided for the purpose by legibly   entering all the columns.
  • The signature shall ensure that the person concerned agrees to abide by the rule and regulations of the library. 
  • Deposit all personal belongings; such as bag, umbrella, files, private book (s), at the property counter of the library.
  • She/he can take only one notebook or white paper inside the library.

 RULES FOR LENDING OF BOOKS

  • The period of loan will be 15days including the day of issue for students and Non Teaching staffs.
  • For teaching staffs books are issued for a period of one month.
  • Number of books allowed to various members (Students-2 books, Non Teaching -2books and Teaching Staff-4books )
  • If a member wishes to keep the book after one renewal he/she has to present the book in the library and get it reissued.
  • A fine of One Rupee per day will be levied from all the library members including Teaching and Non Teaching staffs, if a book is kept beyond the due date stamped.
  • Membership of a user shall remain valid till he/she remains in the role of College.
  • The librarian may recall any book from the member at any time. 
  • Reference Books, CDs, Newspapers; Question Papers, Projects will not be issued.
  • Periodicals are regarded as reference books and are not issued normally.
  • Reserved books are lent only for 10 days, no renewal will be allowed.
  • If a book / books borrowed from the Library is / are lost, the matter must be reported to the Librarian immediately. The member has to replace the same or later edition of the same book lost/ damaged within a week’s time. If the replacement is not possible the following will be the procedure to recover the cost of the lost/damaged.
  • For a foreign book: The cost of the book converted as per the current conversion rate of the foreign currency plus three times of the cost.
  • For an Indian book: Printed price latest edition of the book plus three times of the price.

USE OF COMPUTERS

  • Computer in the library premises should be used for academic purposes only.
  • Online chatting/ browsing of social networking sites are strictly prohibited. Strict      disciplinary action will be taken against the defaulters.
  • Playing games on computers is strictly prohibited in the entire Library premises.
