College

The Malankara Syrian Catholic Mavelikara Episcopal Church has a prominent role in the advancement of education in the State of Kerala especially in the last eight decades; it has established hundreds of primary, secondary and higher secondary schools, industrial training institutes and many professional colleges. Mar Ivanios Law College is as another milestone, in the name of the Servant of God Archbishop Geevarghese Mar Ivanios. Mar Ivanios Law college emerged from the educational vision of the Malankara Syrian Catholic Major Archiepiscopal Church in the State of Kerala. The sprawling 5 Acres of verdant campus, abundant in natural beauty is the ideal learning environment. The campus has been named “Mar Ivanios Law College” in fond remembrance of Archbishop Mar Ivanios, the founder of Mar Ivanios College, the first educational institution from Malankara Catholic community.

The College is administered by the Mavelikara diocese of the Malankara Syrian Catholic Episcopal Church through the Malankara Catholic Educational Society of the Diocese of Mavelikara. Mar Ivanios Law College was envisioned as a centre of excellence in legal education. The college is affiliated to the University of Kerala and recognized by the Bar Council of India.

Motto

The motto of Mar Ivanios Law College is “Righteousness is Immortal” taken from the book of Wisdom 1:15 of the Holy Bible. It symbolises the values of righteousness, fairness and goodness that the institution seeks to propagate. The Institute does not only impart legal knowledge to its students, but also teaches them to utilise it ethically and righteously, for the men who uphold righteousness will ever remain immortal.
